I can't say. There's no way to know. All I can tell you to do is to have hope and visit her as much as you can. You and her other friends need to support each other now. If you are religious, I would pray for her. There isn't much you can do to help her, but anything that keeps you from feeling helpless will be good for you. Maybe you can ask her family if there is anything you can do for them as well.
