Moving to L.A. california?

im 19 soon to be 20 and me and a friend are planning to move to L.A. next summer. we've done research, apartment prices and how much money we're going to have to save up. we haven't lef tout one thing. but we cant just jet out to clai to look for apartments so we're doing it online. and we're going to put in applications at a whole lot of places so we're sure to have some kind of job to have when we get there. but how would we go about getting an apartment. we dont have any credit but i've heard that you just need to show them a pay stub to show you make enough money to live there. but we wouldn't have a job just yet. so maybe if we hotel it when we get there for a night or two enough time to go to interviews then would our new jobs write a letter saying we work there and also include on how much we get paid and sign it and give it to the the people at the apartments to show them? i mean what are some other suggestions? we know what we can afford and our budget is $1500 and there are plenty we've picked out in that pricing range. or can i put it in my mom's name or my dad's? even if they live in tn? please please help. thanks.
