Canker sores every month?

almost every month i get canker sores...2 at a time. I dont no if its normal or not. They hurt really bad. I get them on the sides of my mouth and inside my lip. whats the cause of it and what can i do to make them go away or at least stop hurting? iv tried orajel..canker cover,,and that stupid brush thing.
